Our Administrative Team

Executive Director
Rebecca Towery, Ed.D.

Dr. Towery has over 20 years of experience in the education sector. Beginning with tutoring student athletes at Virginia Tech, substitute teaching, and museum education outreach through the National Archives, Dr. Towery went on to teach history and social studies for 13 years. She then spent over 6 years implementing a process for research and evaluation in Stafford Schools, as well as coordinating the division’s competitive grant efforts, and most recent strategic plan.

When she isn’t at ATI Dr. Towery enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, reading a good book, and hiking in the Shenandoah mountains.

Assistant Director
Chad Armstrong, M.Ed.

Mr. Armstrong has over 20 years of experience in education at the elementary, middle, and now high school levels of education. Mr. Armstrong earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He began his career as a fourth grade teacher and then went on to support teachers as an instructional technology resource teacher. Mr. Armstrong earned his Master’s in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. As an administrator, Mr. Armstrong has served as an elementary assistant principal, elementary principal, and middle school assistant principal.

When he isn’t at ATI, Mr. Armstrong enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, coaching wrestling, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
